Chabana 茶花 are flowers displayed in a tea ceremony setting. This also refers to the types of flowers/plants used for that purpose.
The range of plants considered suitable as tea flowers (chaka) is extensive . The arrangement style used for tea flowers is a less structured and more direct form of arrangement, called nageire (also written as 抛入 or 投入れ), from that often associated with Ikebana, the more formal stylised zarrangements typically associated with Japan.
Tea flowers refer to the way flowers are displayed within the tea room, frequently the alcove within. Our collection of country antique baskets can be well adapted to spring and autumnal arragements in particular.
